HOW DOES A HAIR SYSTEM WORK?
A Hair System is made of real human hair that is meticulously woven into a base that attaches to the scalp using professional grade adhesive and tape. Each base can be cut and styled to your preference. Modern hair systems are so light-weight that they allow maximum comfort and feel like they are barely there.
WHAT IS A HAIR SYSTEM?
A Hair System is a hair replacement solution that is a step beyond a toupee, hair piece, or wig because it is actually made from 100% real human hair and is attached directly to the head. It is designed to stay in place for an extended period of time and have the appearance of real hair making it entirely undetectable.
The Hair System's design includes human hair that is carefully knotted and woven into a base that attaches directly to the scalp via adhesive and tape. There are many base styles to choose from depending on your preferences and needs.
The Hair System blends into your scalp in a pattern to create the most realistic and undetectable appearance of your own hair. A variety of color swatches are compared to your real hair color for a perfect match. If you ever wanted to experiment with a different hair style then this is a great way to do it because the Hair System comes with a significant length of hair that can be cut into the most desirable style to cover the area of baldness for a fresh new look.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HAIR SYSTEMS?
There are 3 different types of Hair Systems: Lace, Mono, and Thin Skin.
Lace Systems provide a breathable mesh and are the most desirable for the more active lifestyle users.
MONO LACE systems use a Monofilament (similar to a nylon fishing line) base that is just the same as LACE, but it is more durable. This base is also convenient for the active lifestyle users.
THIN SKIN is the most realistic base style to date. This base style uses a thin layer of Polyurethane which allows the natural tone of the scalp to show through for realism. As this is a full bond of Polyurethane, it will not allow for the same breathability as lace and mono systems and it is recommended for less active lifestyle users. Thin skin also comes in layers of thickness that range between 0.03mm (most common) to 0.08mm or thicker. Any Thin Skin base we offer above 0.03mm is called 'Thick Skin' in our lineup. The Thicker the mm of the Thin Skin the longer lasting the System will withstand natural wear & tear.
WHAT IS THE GENERAL COST OF A HAIR SYSTEM?
Prices range from $100-600 USD. Pricing depends on: size of hair system (patch vs. full head), base style, hair color (single, or with variation in grey hair), hair thickness, and other available customizations. Stock hair systems are a great option for a fast, and affordable solution.
CAN YOU WASH YOUR HAIR SYSTEM?
Yes, you can wash your Hair System just as you wash your normal hair. Having a professional product line to use for your hair system is very important to maintain the health and longevity. Investing in great products ensures that your hair continues to look natural and undetectable. The Hair System is adhered to your scalp with professional-grade adhesive that is waterproof. It is important to gently massage hair care products as to not cause knots to your hair system. With the hair being knotted into the base, it requires extra care to avoid tangling and tearing.
WHAT ACTIVITIES CAN YOU DO WHILE WEARING A HAIR SYSTEM?
The activities are limitless. As a matter of fact, you can exercise, swim, shower, and style it without any worries of changing your existing lifestyle.
HOW LONG WILL THE HAIR SYSTEM LAST?
At Your Hair Matters we are committed to providing you with all the necessary tips to prolong the life of your hair system beyond the suggested expectancy. The LACE systems in particular could last from 6-12 months at a time if well cared for. The THIN SKIN Systems, depending upon the thickness and how well you maintain the system could last you between 3-6 months or longer.
HOW CAN I MATCH MY HAIR TO A HAIR SYSTEM? (COLOR IS KING)
Our $99 starter kit comes with real human hair swatches and a proper guide to help you measure your area of baldness. This is a hassle-free process that has plagued many curious customers and we are thrilled to provide the most effective way to match your existing hair color to look your best. We put the tools right into your hands so that you are confident you'll get the correct color THE VERY FIRST TIME.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STOCK HAIR AND CUSTOM HAIR ORDERS?
A Stock order would be a Hair System that is commonly made to be sent right away. All of our Stock Systems can be adjusted to your size even if you are a smaller size. As long as you match the hair color and the base style that fits your lifestyle then its HIGHLY recommended to stick with Stock Hair. A CUSTOM order can be defined in several ways.
- If you specify a size or amount of grey hair in a specific area it automatically becomes a Custom Order. Remember, if you match a Hair system that is a Stock color that Hair System can be cut to fit your size.
- If you order a Hair System tailor-made to a small patch of balding, or you are an existing Hair System user not using a stock system and you request the hair to be a particular way, it will be a Custom Order.
- Lastly and most importantly if you are provided the starter kit and your hair matches a custom hair color you would then fall into a Custom Order.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY HAIR SYSTEM?
You can receive your Hair System typically around 2-3 weeks from your order. Keep in mind, if you are starting with the Starter Kit, this timeline is quoted for once the order is placed.
If your Hair System falls into a Custom order It can take up to 14-16 weeks. Due to a Global hair shortage as a result of Covid-19, these timeline are currently extremely long. As the world returns to normal, these timelines should shorten.
